Paid for by the public: as electricity billpayers, and as taxpayers standing behind the loans.
This site follows the money behind the UK's renewables and net zero programme through the public record. It starts with the national bill and ends on the Banffshire coast, where wind farm cables and a planned Shetland link come ashore.
Who runs it

Each page of figures ends with its sources; the four headline figures on the home page are sourced on the bill page. The evidence register lists the Moray Firth figures one by one, with the document and the place in it.
Where a figure could not be found, the site says so. The missing figures lists what the public pays for but cannot see.
The site takes no position on climate science. It asks what was spent, what it bought, and who was paid.
Corrections and missing figures
If a figure here is wrong, or you hold one that is missing, write to the address below. Say which page and which figure, and name the document that shows the right one. A correction backed by a document is made and dated on this page. A figure with no document stays a claim.
